The actual situation is you get 5 nominees. Use them wisely as it can be anyone.

AM does not ban on the sole basis that you redeem a ticket for your friend. However, if your account activity suggests that you are selling miles, then AM will act accordingly.

Many airlines do undercover in all major forums to check if there are any selling. Also - frequent change of nominees will also put your account in jeopardy.

All airlines intentionally leave this as a grey area to justify what they do.

Remember - with black and white, there is basically no room for any discussion.

You do have the right to file an "appeal". Simply the "appeal" will not be with CX, but either Small Claims Tribunal or the District Court.
