Yea it sucks. It's like a trap IMO.
I really hope someone from AM could clarify this issue in black and white instead of banning members for redeeming awards for others out of suspicion. This is very horrifying when it come to redeeming awards for friends or family members and get banned just because you're not flying with them. And the most important thing is that you will have no opportunity to file an appeal in such case as AM would throw out some T&D like they reserve the right of final decision bla bla bla...

JAL stated it's rule clearly for redeeming awards for JMB member's family.
