I first stayed at a HI because my client twisted my arm, the place was right next door. I had the same attitude as you about HI's place in the hierarchy of hotel status. Not any more. They are all at least as nice as the small Hilton or Marriott branded properties I have stayed at. The only thig is no restaurant.
I just stayed at the new down town San Deigo HI. It was really good.The girl
at the front desk quoted a price but took my price offer.
Maybe it's just me but they are worth more than a Days Inn,and Days Inn never flew me and my family to Hawaii and put me up at their five star resort like Hilton did. They have my loyalty!
