Pier 5 Hotel Baltimore, Curio Collection by Hilton {US-MD}
Just completed a one night stay at the Pier 5 Baltimore, a Curio hotel, and it was terrific. The hotel is perfectly located along the harbor at Pier 5. Valet was readily available and check in was quick. Valet was $38.00. The staff was very friendly. The hotel was full so I wasn't able to get an upgrade but the room assigned to us was fine. It was my first stay at a Curio so I'm guessing this was similar to others in that collection, quirky colors and all. The room was spacious and it appeared most, if not all, rooms have a small awning over the windows which gives the rooms a nice touch and prevents sun from blarzing into the room. The bathroom had a nice size vanity and huge country style sink.
The lobby is a nice size. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel, itself, but the hotel is in the same building as Ruth's Chris and also McCormick and Schmick. The latter restaurant has room service. Ruth's Chris is accessible from inside the hotel. There is great patio seating along the water. Breakfast is served in the spacious lobby. It's a buffet with eggs any way you want them. The was no upcharge for me as a Diamond.
It's a small hotel compared to the fullservice hotels and that was appealing to me. It wasn't overwhelmingly crowded even though it was a full hotel. The Hyatt or Marriott Waterfront used to be my hotel of choice but, for now, I have to give the Pier 5 two thumbs up. I'll definitely be staying there again.
