Ever since the US/AA merger, I've seen airlines as near-monopolies, focused on ruthlessly extracting as much cash out of us as possible, and offering only the bare minimum necessary to extract that cash.
This is yet another example. Even in FC, we're just cattle with dollar signs attached to us.
