If you really want to use the cert at there in Amsterdam, then that is where I would be looking. I'd try to find the original list of "non-participating" hotels and verify this hotel wasn't on that list. Assuming that, then if you can get a response from Marriott Concierge, then great have them try to help you convince the hotel to take the cert. Otherwise, I'd call MR Customer Service and try to get them to help out.
