Yes, we'd have much rather gone to Las Vegas, although there wasn't any award availability at all, and so we saved £1,500 per person on the cash price by going to Los Angeles... It seemed worth driving a bit further to save £3,000!

There currently isn't any availability for Phoenix, or Vegas on the dates that we need, but we will be deliberately not booking hotels that we can't change in case availability does come up...

I checked availability for reward seats on all those routes over the next few weeks and there were quite a few in each class on most days, and although I suspect the summer will be busier, it's not like it's Florida...

We have a hotel booked a couple of hours from the path of totality, and that'll give us flexibility to drive to somewhere with good weather.
