The likelihood of making the above mentioned connection entirely depends on whether your luggage gets checked through from BOS to NAP simply because, failing that (don't get me wrong, essentially I'm unable to see any issues), you would put your NAP connection as significant risk, even though, in the worst case scenario, you would still have plenty of choice with later flights (note, though: AZ wouldn't rearrange you in that respect because of the two separate tickets) or even trains.

if they check the luggage, aren't they linking the two PNRs?
If I miss the 2:30 flight due to late arrival of their aircraft won't they accommodate me on their own later flight at 5:30 for free?
What if I don't check any bags?
