Do you have the Simple Choice or Simple Choice North America plan? If you have the Simple Choice North America plan, then you'll have full speed LTE and don't need to be using WiFi calling. If you have the regular Simple Choice plan then you will be at 2G speed, even if connected to the LTE network, and can use WiFi or pay 20¢/minute for calls to the US or within Mexico.
