New IAD TSA procedures for returning Int'l flights??

Yesterday, I came back to IAD from a United TATL flight. After clearing Customs, went to the TSA checkpoint before going upstairs for my connecting flight.

I was shocked!!

There were no lines, I walked over to one of the conveyors and was second in line & put my bags on the belt immediately. Didn't have to take off my belt or shoes. They weren't giving anyone bins unless absolutely necessary, didn't have to take out liquids. No one had to go through the <full body scanners>, only the old magnetometers. Probably was thru within 2 minutes, at most. However, they did check passports twice - as you entered the area and once as you entered the roped lanes. Didn't understand the need to check passports twice within 30 feet.

Anyone else experience this?
