This is my first time redeeming points, so I want to make sure I make the right choice. I don't have that many points, here is my breakdown.

American Express CANADA Membership Rewards points: 44500
RBC Rewards AVION: 20000

I have two trips coming up.

-A short haul from Toronto to New York in June for 1
-Toronto to Hawaii OR Toronto to Greece in August for 2


A typical flight to New York is $250. When I try to redeem with Avion, I am using all my points + $88 for the roundtrip flight.

When I try to redeem with AMEX, I'm using all my points, or 15k points + $133.

Does this seem like a good use of points? Should I transfer my points somewhere else for better value, like to an airline program, or just wait to redeem them later on to help with my July flights?
