I'm never too bothered about grub in Y for shorthaul, or at least flights around the hour mark but do appreciate that AF/KL provide it. Instead of going down the same worn path of the likes of BA they could be innovative and offer those that aren't too fussed about onboard crusty sandwiches the option to forgo the food on booking in return for a few miles or some cash knocked off - i.e. the opposite of what BA do. This means no cash handling on board as well - something I know the FAs don't care too much about at BA.
