I keep seeing a similar issue on flights out of Spokane. In this case, it's not that AS won't ticket, it's that they will only ticket at the highest price (i.e. full F and full Y). Below is a search result for GEG-LAX on May 23:



It shows the first class fare as $613. As you can see on the flight summary page, GEG-SEA is booked into Y, and SEA-LAX booked into F:



However, using a multi-city search, I can get GEG-SEA to book into R and SEA-LAX into P, for a total of $264:



I don't know why the default search can't come up with this price, but I would have to think that AS is missing out on some F sales as a result.
