I want to stay with HH or SPG whenever possible, but sometimes I need to stay in small places that don't have big-scale hotels. There are a lot of Hampton Inns around the country but their rates are way higher than "cheap-but-ok-for-one-night-stay" places like Days Inn, Howard Johnson, Choice Hotels, etc. Or maybe I just don't know how to get the best rates at Hampton Inns? (Even with 10% AAA discount the rates are still way higher than competition.) Are there any codes or tricks that would allow me to get better rates at HI?
