In less than an hour of sending the details I got an email from SPG Champion that resolved the situation to my satisfaction. ^^

BTW Starwood, in the rare circumstances that it appears a hotel can set a minimum stay length, that should be clearly stated in the reservation details. The SPG site said my reservation was too 'complex' to display any details. Really?? I can't even see the cancellation deadline, number of SPG points used, cancel it, etc.
