Thanks. I can see that happening, especially in larger airports with multiple clubs. $500 membership fee is a pretty good deal for a decent lunch every day. I also understand club gatekeepers need tools, like presenting a BP, to keep poaching to a minimum.
Too bad United won't just announce, honestly, why they are now enforcing the policy and why it isn't system wide. I've asked at the two clubs (out of six) where we were challenged and heard two different answers.
In the not too distant future I can see each member/guest scanning in their BP for access and club receptionists won't be needed.
