Did you discuss this with DL over the phone, at the gate, or at the desk before you went home? If not, you are screwed. In this situation, it is always important to discuss this with a DL employee and have them take the required steps to refund the ticket. I have never had a problem with them doing this.
But if you just left the airport, you are a no-show.
