No More Visa at Lo Wu/Shenzhen for US Citizens
Just wanted to let everyone know something that I learned elsewhere on FT, and verified last week when visiting Hong Kong/Shenzhen.
Effective April 1, 2004 US citizens can no longer get instant visas at the Lo Wu/Shenzhen border crossing serving the KCR railway station. Fortunately, we got our visas in LA before going having read this somewhere on FT, and while it cost a lot more here than it used to there ($50 US vs. $13 US).
It would have been a major bummer to have taken the train from Hung Hom to Lo Wu only to be turned away and sent back home, so I thought I'd post this to make others aware who might have been planning to do the same.
