Hi everyone,

I fly ~3 times a year from Madrid, Spain (MAD) to Birmingham, AL (BHM) (and occasionally within Europe) with my partner and a toddler. I'm trying to figure out which program would be best for us.

(1) What is most important to you in a FFP?
First award redemption rates and then priority service. We don't always fly enough to achieve elite status with any airline but have achieved it through credit card spend.

(2) How many miles do you usually fly each year & in what class? How many flights/sectors?
(<25000, 25000-50000, >50000 miles - <25, 25-50, >50 flights?)
(3) What types of fares do you usually buy ?
(First, Business, Premium economy, Economy, cheapest)
Reply: Cheapest
(4) Can you choose your airlines and/or class of service? Airline most flown? Do you travel for work and/or pleasure?
Reply: We fly for pleasure and typically choose Delta because we can connect in ATL. ATL is just a two hour drive from BHM, so if something goes wrong we can potentially drive to/from ATL. We can not choose long layovers because of our toddler.
(5) Which routes and airlines do you fly most often
Almost exclusively MAD - BHM
Reply:
(6) What is your home airport?
(SFO, SCL, London LHR, HKG, Singapore SIN etc.)
Reply: MAD
(7) Do you have FFP status of any kind in an airline? What is it? Do you have any miles banked in a FFP?
(AA Executive Platinum, UA 1K, LAN Comodoro, etc)
Reply: Delta Silver, currenty have 180k miles
(8) Preferred Airlines
Reply: Delta because of the ATL connection but their redemption rates suck and as of late they tend to be the most expensive option for our route.

Although we live in Madrid I bank in the US and am not opposed to airline credit cards in order to rack up miles. I can't keep up with which airlines are partnered with which and who has the best programs so I'm hoping you can provide some insight. Thanks in advance.
