If you have to buy separate air tickets from PRG to Tegel after coming across the Atlantic, and don't spend at least one night in Prague, that is risky if there are any IRROPS enroute. Train is easy on the other hand and easier to re-schedule. It does take ~45 minutes to go from PRG to the Central railway station via bus and Metro, faster if you use the Airport Express bus.
