I just returned from HKG and as usual there was a delay, I asked they GA why the delay and she said "Have you seen how dark it is out there" to which I replied that is what happens at night. Granted it had rained earlier and there was some low cloud but the delay kept getting longer. When we finally boarded we still had to wait almost 30 min and the announcement came that we were waiting for late connecting passengers. My question is: What is a weather delay? Is it just the flight can not take off for weather or connecting flights are delayed for weather. The reason I ask is that in YVR we were boarded and again delayed do to connecting passengers and then again in YYC we had to wait 50 min for connecting Passengers.
