Quick update... I wrote to TK to complain about the misleading comments of the agent and honestly was not expecting much given my previous experience. BUT they actually solved my problem - they acknowledged that the agent made a mistake and they upgraded my tickets. So kudos to TK, I hope they continue on like this.
