Ok, here is a question for those who know the park well - according to the reports on the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory website, they lava looks like it is headed for the Wilipe`a lava delta. From the map on this site it looks like this is not that far from the end of Chain of Craters road. Is this correct, or is the map deceiving? I am leaving for the Big Island Saturday and would REALLY like to see some live lava if possible, but I don't think my group is up for a 1+ hour hike each way to see lava, especially after dark...
