It happened literally in the last week or two.
As of last month, there was a single Y-only A320. You got unlucky to be stuck with it. A few posters have reported to us that the final bird - probably the one you flew - is now retrofitted (or in the process, aka it's not flying around anymore).
Then I got lucky 50%. It was a dirt-cheap Y ticket for vacation with a short flight, so no complain.
BTW: one of the benefit of J on regional flight is to be able to disembark first and be out of the airport fast (always without checked bags). But with KA island (or bus gates), you are first in the bus, but have to wait until the other Y pax disembark and join you in the bus. It kills that benefit. Last week, I landed at KA island at 11pm after a tiring work day, arrived in the bus and had to wait some ten minutes for other pax to fill it, then another long time to let two longhaul ac pass. That's not what I expect when I pay J.
