I have two friends coming to visit from London and I will be gifting one with a mountain dulcimer. In the soft padded case it will be about 36" long and 9-10" wide. I've heard there have been some changes on traveling with instruments but was wondering if any of you have had any recent experiences with DL in this regard.

It's not an expensive model and not worthy of it's on seat or a hard case.
