1) Arrive in ATL on the BA flight from LHR, around 8pm, should be in hotel by 1030pm

Leave next morning on the 1130 AA from ATL-LAX

2) Arrive in ORD on the last AA (will be a 787), again in hotel by 1030pm, and leaving ORD-LAX next morning by 9am

What is the setup like for AA in Atlanta, do you feel "subdued" by DL? (As in you get a less favorable, old-ish concourse, planes get delayed more etc)?
AA (along with UA) have arguably the best locations at the airport, the T concourse. This is directly connected to the domestic terminal, no train ride required. TSA was for awhile pretty bad (even Pre) but it's gotten better with Delta's investment in the automated bins, etc.

Guess my Q is why connect in ATL? Why not go to JFK, or even LAX directly... hotels at ATL all require a shuttle and none are of any great quality (I prefer the renaissance or the Westin).
