AC transboarder out of YYC in J is always more expensive for me than any other carrier. AA/UA is around the same with AS usually being slightly cheaper and DL for some reason has had the cheapest J fares out of YYC for a while now.
I was able to upgrade a large number of both UA and DL flights out of YYC from economy to business last year for about an incremental 25% of the purchase price (between $200 and $400 Canadian) to destinations in the Midwest/Western US. That is *never* the case on AC except at very specific times of year (like Z fares on Jan 1st).
