Why would anyone with decent credit use a BofA Alaska Air VISA debit/check card instead of a BofA Alaska Air VISA credit card?
1) The debit card doesn't have all the legal protections the credit card has.
2) The debit card deducts charges automatically from your checking account (how's that an advantage?) and doesn't permit the free float the credit card version does.
3) While both are VISA branded cards, the debit/check card is accepted fewer places than the credit card is. (Many rental car places won't accept debit cards for instance).
I just don't see the point of getting the debit card instead of the credit card except for people with bad credit and/or no financial restraint.
The "one less bill to pay" argument won't even fly since you can set up automatic payments for the credit card from a BofA checking account.
