Could you update whether the Qantas Seamless Transfer worked for you? It will work.
Existing immigration, with all your baggage, turn right and follow the signs to the QF domestic check in area in the T1 international terminal. Once checked in you go through security and onto the QF airside bus to T3. Many others will be doing the same.
