Don't know about UV, but I noticed they affect cellphone.
While still at the gate in SFO, I was talking on my phone and the sun bothered me so I dimmed, and suddenly the signal got worse and lost. I had no signal, and then I undimmed, and voila, signal is back, I thought it was weird so I did it multiple times and it was that, dramatic effect on it. Don't know why.
