sadly, I fell asleep as soon as I sat down and put my seat belt on. I got zero sleep the night before because I was making several long calls half a world away.... Even the engine thrust didn't make me wake up. In fact, I didn't open my eyes again until the wheels touched down almost 5 hours later.
As I was deplaning, the FA said
"we didn't want to wake you because you were sleeping like a baby... after we made sure you were alive of course..."
I should have brought that
"Please wake me for meals" sticker that I got from a Cathay Pacific toiletry bag.
I ended up having questionable airport sushi for breakfast/lunch during my 2-hour connection.
If you want Breakfast and you think you're going to be sleeping, then TELL THE FA that you want to be awakened for Breakfast! It really is that easy! Most people do NOT want to be awakened when they are sleeping. So, it is relatively easy to just tell the FA your preference.
