787 window dim control

I am a big fan of the Dreamliner but one aspect really irritates me and that is control of the blinds

I understand people don't want to be blinded by the sun in a new time zone but I would have thought a little instruction to pasengers could let them use them as they wish

We were one hour off arrivsl into LHR this morning at 11 am UK time when I asked could they undim the blinds; just on time to get a view of lands end

The BA crew were very nice and appeared just to have inactivated them (put them on max dim) at nightfall in Chile and not turned them back on

I was flying to Easter Island on a day light trip during my vacation and LATAM dimmed them about 3hrs into the flight flight so people could rest

The crew seem to be able deactivate the blinds in blocks of 3 in first and business so not sure how this would work if you were in economy and individually wanted to control

Is it just me who wants autonomy with blind control?
