I wouldn't go all the way to Haneda and then back out - too much backtracking for a limited stay (imo). I'd see if there was somewhere cheap to stay around Shinagawa maybe, or Asakusa. I think that both of those are more or less along the path from NRT to HND without being a big backtrack to interesting sites.

I would suggest to think carefully about your jetlag/sleep situation. Do your best to work with your body not against it.

It seems like "daytime only" things are out, but you could easily enjoy exploring some nightlife-friendly areas, or get a tasty casual meal somewhere without being too much of hassle.

Locals: is Sensoji area open in the evenings?
