Data point: I was able to check through in JHB on a MH J to QR J separate ticket two weeks ago. The JHB agent even printed my QR boarding passes

The PEK agent is quite annoying. I did the MH361-MH784 last weekend and the agent demanded I showed her my flight out of BKK. After I showed her the ticket, she then question why am I going to BKK for 3 hours only.
Saw quite a number of familiar faces on the from MH361 on MH784. I always wonder if these people are genuinely travelling or MR-ing like me. Haha...
