10 abreast will be quite a squeeze for the seats/aisles as well as the passenger. I expect the decision to split suppliers is down to trying to fit 10 across on the 777, the Recaro seat is only 17.2" wide. The HAECO seat might not fit. The basic Vector Y seat is 19" wide including an inch of armrest each side.
Soon the CX/KA fleet will be as complicated as the current SQ fleet

Wow! This is crazy as at one point, there will be 7 different types of economy seats in the whole fleet!
Back in 2012, CX standardises all seats into two main types only: regional and long-haul. The retrofit speed was rapid (which is much much faster and better than SQ). However soon, we will see a great variety of different seats again.
