I kind of hate to bring this up, but I do sometimes wonder if women aren't selected for some of this BS more than men. It's certainly been my experience that I seem to get selected more than most. I often wonder if it's not because the screeners think women will gripe less and be more compliant.

I've had instances where:

I and another woman whom wasn't traveling with me were hassled about our number of carryons - one rollie and a purse each - while men with three bags each waltzed through with no comment.

I stripped all my jewelry, shoes, everything, didn't beep and was still called for secondary. I was the only woman in the security line.

When traveling with a male companion, if one of us is called for secondary it's most always me.

The sweater thing - I was told to remove my sweater while men kept on their sport jackets.

There have been other things too, but this is a small example.

What do you all think? I would love to see some stats. Considering men seem to fly a lot more than women I suspect the percentage of women subjected to secondary is out of whack.
