Isn't that considered an international flight, of which CPU doesn't apply? Or is it because the Philippines are considered part of Oceania, which does allow CPU? Where can I find a definition of what United considers to be Oceania?

Thanks for the info!
The official definition of Oceania on United website: Travel within Oceania (includes American Samoa, Cook Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, Marshall Islands, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Tonga, Vanuatu, Samoa).

However, MNL should belong to South Asia. But I got MNL-GUM-MNL CPU before. So, you should not worry about it.

Have a good trip.
