We had a great flight to BKK in F, but last week I received the dreaded downgrade email with the swap from the 380 to a 777 - a bitter disappointment as the kids and I had really been looking forward. We tried everything to move back to a F ticket, but they had no 380 availability for 10 days.

What surprised me was how QR handled this. On the question of downgrade compensation, initially QR said nothing was due, as F and J are the same. After the TA stepped in, QR said they would provide $75 for each adult, and $56 per child.

We flew the segment back in the 777 and it was fine, but certainly not the F experience we expected when we bought the ticket. Is it just me, or is $75 a laughable sum in such a circumstance?

Equipment changes happen, but QR's handling is dreadful.
Totally unacceptable comp.
