I thought that but it seems odd then that it shows it as an option for upgrade.

Unfortunately, the flight to IAH is waitlist and the flight to SCL is available so it seems more likely that i wouldn't get the upgrade to IAH but would to SCL.

In that case, i presume, i'm not entitled to any portion of a refund if the flight to IAH does not clear?
