So was checking in on some up coming flights on Virgin Atlantic and KLM recently to use my GUCs. (First annoying thing is that the agents don't seem to think that you can use GUCs on Virgin Atlantic flights, but when pressed, they figure it out). But after they said there wasn't any G fares available on my trip on Virgin, and no Z class on KLM on another trip, she said she could waitlist it. Now looking on DL.com, you see that there is Z fare held but not confirmed. When I asked if this was new, she said sometimes you can do it, sometimes not, but didn't clarify any more.
