I call Asiana (the Korean call center) & got a supervisor. I politely explained if I could not get a window, I would need to refund my ticket & fly KE instead. That worked & 2 min later I had 2A. Obviously you can't threaten to do that when on points but it does show they can assign these blocked seats if they want to. You should call and ask for a seat...if the agent can't do it escalate to a supervisor. They can & should do it for u

Tried calling several times, no luck. Set an alarm to check in at exactly 24 hours prior, still blocked. Kept checking throughout the day, still blocked. Checkin at the airport, "No problem Sir, which window seat would you like?"
This is good to know. I guess they want to give everyone a fair shot at getting a window seat regardless of how early they booked, especially to vip passengers. But as chinatraderjmr said, I would cancel my ticket if I cannot get a window seat ahead of time, even on points.
Then again, if you fly KE 748, then it is all windows seats in F.
