How is that selfish when he was thinking of his patients that he needed to see the next day? He bought the ticket and had boarded the plane. If you buy a ticket to a sporting event, Disneyland, airline ticket, concert, train ticket, and etc - you expect to be able to go and not be kicked out for minding your own business.
