In my experience, Asian countries tend to be hyper-sensitive to any perceived worse treatment their nationals receive. Whether that is because they themselves might be 'supremacists' as far as their own people are concerned or because every bad thing that was ever done to an Asian nation's citizen was caused by racism, who knows.
