I am of the view that the 'glory days' of BA was because it was based on traditional British values and culture that over the years has been eroded as we adopt more of a US corporate culture in our country. Most elite premium brands/companies in the UK are no longer British owned. For example;

Harrods - Qatari
The Dorchester Hotel - Brunei
Holland & Holland – French
Jaguar & Land Rover – Indian
Wentworth Golf club – Chinese
Rolls-Royce & Bentley cars – German

This list is endless but at the end of the day are just trophy assets for emerging nations and many of which don’t even have a strong British workforce.

BA is NOT a British company anymore as British values and culture are of little importance to the company. I suspect IAG’s long term goal is they want to build a standard airline platform that all their subsidiaries will run from which will essentially offer the same generic products across all airlines just in different colours according to to their hubs.
What is your point? Really?
