Going to SIn in July on Qatar biz and would really love to get miles banked to Aa for elite status as that's where my miles from that flight are going. Unfortunately price diff between *A and One World is too big to make it worthwhile.
From
the Elevate page on VA earning:
Please note: Only flights operated and marketed by Virgin Australia are eligible for earning points. Unfortunately, we're unable to award points for flights operated by Virgin Australia and marketed by code share partners.
Flights marketed by VA (Virgin Australia) but operated by DL will not credit to VX (Virgin America) (or AS, even while the DL-AS partnership remains alive).
I'm almost certain that a flight marketed by VA but operated by DL will be creditable
only to VA or DL. No other partners of either airline will credit a flight ticketed like that.
The VA-marketed, VA-operated segments could be credited to any VA partner, including VX.
