One observation, we have a household account. 3 Golds (two adults and one 15 year old) + 2 Blue (older kids 19 and 22, switching from AA and on their way to BA status).

In March one of the kids (Blue) received an OpUp from WT (solo-PNR, traveling alone) to WTP BOS-LHR. I thought that was strange. He didn't ask, upgrade was processed and presented automatically at Boston-Logan check-in. Flight was indeed quite full. My only guess, is that he was part of a household account with three Golds (or perhaps, an absolute random fluke).
