Yes, it's a good way to get points! Adds a few minutes to your shopping, but worth it, in my opinion. Everyone will buy things from John Lewis or M&S at some point. Bought a Montblanc pen through the website - and that alone gave me 5,000+ avios easily. Just make sure you use the exact window that pops up after you click the link though, as otherwise, the avios won't be credited to you.
