Air France "la collection" : a scam?
Recently I register to receive what should be great limited time travel offers, for flights + hotels by AF. I have not really seen anything that special that could bring good J or P fares compared to what is usually available.
Now today, I made a simulation for an offer in Biarritz at the Georges VI. Price adversited: 257 EUR per person, flights + 2 nights hotel + breakfast excluding local taxe de sejour. Mini/Light fares, so luggage excluded. And at the end, 25 EUR "frais de dossier", for a total of 540 EUR.
Now on AF website, the flights cost 100.78 EUR per person (including 1 EUR service fee). The same room on the hotel website is 322 EUR. Total price: 521.56 EUR + 2 EUR service fee. All these prices are just normal prices for flights and hotel, other flights that are more expensive would increase the price of the package by the same price difference.
Not a huge difference compared to the "very special offer that is about to end" but how can they tell it is a special offer and not include their service fee/frais de dossier upfront in the advertised price?
Result: I have unsubscribed from this scam, I am sure it is PERFECT STAY SAS that is using AF to promote their product on a hotel commission share basis, in addition to the additional fees charged to the customer.
