Of course, the more I think about this, the more it occurs to me that this is probably a very problematic proposal. There are just a finite number of resources (e.g. planes) that UA could throw at this. Even if the number crunchers at UA were giving this astronomical event the full respect that it is due, would it even be possible for them to increase capacity like this? Where would the airlines pull resources from elsewhere in their system?

I just know that I need to lock up our tickets this coming week. We might consider driving, but I know that in that scenario I'll be stuck in the back between the iapetus jrs. (with the MIL up in the front passenger seat) for two days up to Idaho and two days back -- not happening!
