New front desk helper said it was most likely for tip and tax which she said was not covered. When I explained I was under the impression the entire breakfast would be covered, she said it was only for the regency club only and since I got breakfast in the restaurant it doesn't cover tips. When I mentioned tips are included in the benefits, she held her ground.
So I paid the $20 or so since she was adamant about not waiving it.
Definitely not coming back here again. Its not about the money, but the nickel and diming of benefits.
This is the first time in my travels for work I've ever had to go back and forth with any hotel staff about things and it's definitely left a bad taste.
Was the lounge closed? Because if it was open, then you didn't get nickel and dimed; you got a benefit above and beyond. If the lounge was not open that morning, then you got shorted.
